The danish welsh cob breeder meeting April 18 2010 were held at Kildegaard stud, se photos under: Open day April 18
I have been breeding welsh since 1987 first Section C's then most D's and a few section C's.
Back in 1989(that was before the internet) , decided I that I wanted a section D mare, I wrote to the Welsh Pony and Cob Society, who send me a list of studs there could have what I was looking for.
After a businees meeting in London hired I a car ( the only medium or bigger size car they had was a white Porsche, my friends in Wales still laughts of that= from abroad, Porsche and buying a horse!)
I hired the Porsche and drove to Wales for my first time to look for a cob mare, I bought Nebo Cymraes ( full sister yo Nebo Daniel) and had here covered with Derwen Adventure boy, before she came to Denmark.
She had a very nice liver chestnut filly foal: Kildegaards Welsh Bonny, only shown once: the Danish grading show where she was best foal of all sections.
Unfortunate had Welsh Bonny a severe attack of laminities late summer in her second year!, But she had a filly foal: Kildegaards Rosemary ( by Synod Rembránt) at the age of 5, Rosemary was her first and only foal, I sold Rosemary as a foal but bought her back when she was 2 years, Rosemary is the dam of my great mare: Kildegaards Cirkeline.
I bought Synod Rembrant of Marianne Seidenfaden in 1992, when he was a yearling colt.
Rembrant was a fantastic show horse, so many championships and several B.I.S., the good die young: I lost Rembrant in 2008 due to cushing syndrome. He is missed.
Nebo Cymraes my foundation mare had a very nice colt foal: Kildegaards Columbus (by Menai Sparkling Magic) in 1993, he has been a great stockgetter for me, given me som many champions, Columbus is still in his prime only 16 years old, a very gentle stallion.
My stallions has not been at public stud for many years, only the mares with the Kildegaard prefix can come back.
To have Cobs is a lifestyle, it has given me friends all over europe, and I am lucky to have a daughter and son in law there also has great pleasure in showing and keeping cobs.
I have been breeding for 22 years the last 17 years without buying a cob or having a mare covered with a other stallion, but this year have I bought 2 very promising colts ( Aberlogin Ace of Spades and Taraco Fabio) in wales, one at the sales and one private, I am looking forward to show them in 2010.
